An Urgent Prayer Need at Cottage Hill Baptist Church

Updated: Thursday, December 6 • 4:30 PM
On Monday, November 26, our Pastor, Dr. Keith Thomas, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We have since found out that it is a stage 1 cancer, which means that the doctors are encouraged that they found it early. Dr. Thomas will be heading out to MD Anderson in Houston for tests and appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 11-12. Here are some ways that you can pray for our Pastor, his family, and our church during this time:

PRAY that God would give Pastor traveling mercies as he drives out to Houston. Pray for a safe and swift journey.

PRAY for the testing that will happen on Tuesday, December 11 and for the subsequent appointments on Wednesday. Pray that God will give the doctors and surgeons wisdom as they come up with a "game plan." Pray that they would be able to do the surgery SOON.

PRAY for his family during these days. Pray for God’s grace to overflow on them. Pray that things in their lives will stay orderly and “normal” and that things would not be chaotic and hectic for them.

PRAY that God would continue to grant our Pastor with a supernatural peace.

PRAY that God’s people would come together and petition heaven on behalf of the undershepherd of His flock.

PRAY for God's complete and total healing!

PRAY that through it all, our great, living God would receive all the glory.

Hi Pastor,

I am praying for you and believing the Lord for a miracle. I am claiming Psalm 21:4: "He asked you for life and you gave it to him - length of days, for ever and ever." You know we love you and I miss you and that buzz cut already! We will be standing in the gap for you and Karen for sure.

Love in Jesus,

Tiffany

Dear Pastor, Karen and children,
Sharon and I are in a state of continuous prayer for you. We believe that Jehovah-rapha, the Lord that heals, has you in His hands completely and He is guiding you and your family in every action on another faith journey here at Cottage Hill Baptist Church. We storm the gates of heaven in prayer that He heals you completely. He will be glorified! We are so confident that you will be well, completely cured and with us for so many more years to come that we are planning a PGA (Pastor’s Golfing Adventure) with you annually up the Robert Trent Jones’ Golf Trail for the next twenty-five years. You are our brother, you are the undershepherd of our real family, and we will love you forever!

Hello Coach,
Dot and I have been praying for you, Karen and family. We believe God is upto something BIG and you are right in the middle of it. We didn't know he would use you in this manner; however, the results are going to bring Glory to Him and Revival to CHBC. Know this, we love you and believe the Lord has His hand on you.

Hi Pastor,
I am so thankful for a pastor that lives what he preaches. I will be praying for you, Karen and your family and look forward to hearing how God is going to use your hospital adventure to touch many lives.

I also wanted to let you know how God answered my prayers today, prayers that have been prayed for many years. My son was among those who came down when you gave the call. That was such a sweet time for me seeing him at the altar. Thank you for always being faithful to give the opportunity for people to respond to Gods calling.
